About the Author
The Sanatan Way is founded and written by Anshul Patro. Every article, from the weekly Jyotirlinga series to festival and practice guides, is researched, written and reviewed by Anshul, with the aim of making the stories, rituals and philosophy of Sanatan Dharma clear and accurate for today’s readers, in both English and Hindi.
How We Write and Review
Every article on The Sanatan Way is researched from primary sources and established traditions: the Vedas and Upanishads, the Itihasas, the Puranas, the Bhagavad Gita, and temple sthala puranas. We follow a few simple principles:
- Sources first: where a story or practice comes from a specific text, we name it. Where traditions or regions differ, we say so instead of presenting one version as the only truth.
- Accuracy over speed: dates and tithis are cross-checked against the Panchang and official temple sources, and where North and South Indian calendars differ we give both.
- Respect for every sampradaya: Vaishnava, Shaiva, Shakta and Smarta perspectives are presented with equal reverence.
- Kept up to date: articles are revised when we find better sources or when festival dates change, and the “Updated” date on each article shows the latest review.
- Health and safety: guidance on fasting or pilgrimage always encourages readers to consult a doctor where health is a concern.
